The only constant in life is change

90cm x 30cm x 20cm

borosilicate tubes, slumped

The shape of these pieces retain a monumental character and relate to the human body. They talk about the passing of time and furthermore the fragility of our existence. Over a certain period gravity and heat consistently change the shape of these pieces. They are slowly falling to the ground. During this transformational process, this body of flowing glass is “crash-cooled” and the state of flux gradually comes to an end.

Thereby a unique moment of this descending motion, where the material fluctuates between the solid and liquid state, is captured – in a snapshot out of glass.
